Auction Terms and Conditions

Auction Registration:

  • To register for a bidder number you must show a current valid driver’s license or a state issued photo ID.

Buyer’s Premium:

  • 10% Buyers Premium on CASH payments (if paid in full)
  • 12% Buyers Premium on all CARD purchases (including Debit) & All In-House Absentee Bids (Regardless of Cash/Card)
  • 17% Buyers Premium on Absentee Bids made by phone or online.

All Sales Are Final:

  • All Items are sold As-Is, Where-Is and All Sales are Final.
  • A $15 per day storage fee will apply to all items left after the pickup required timeline (if the item hasn’t been resold)
  • Estate Sales Unlimited (ESU) describes in detail each item and provides pertinent information for advertising but makes no representations, and is not responsible for errors or omissions in the description of merchandise.
  • In no event shall ESU be held responsible for any stated or implied warranty.
  • Bidder shall be the sole judge of value; it is the bidder’s responsibility to determine condition, age, authenticity, or other determinative factor prior to bidding.  You can call us at 503-617-6116 ext. 3 with any questions before the sale.
  • ESU reserves the right to withdraw or re-catalog items prior to the auction.
  • ESU is not responsible for internet failures.
  • You must pay your bill before leaving the day of the sale.

Payment Methods:

  • Cash
  • All Major Credit & Debit Cards
  • Any other payment methods must be arranged with the Auction Center prior to the sale.

Absentee Bidding:

  • All bids must be received by 5:00pm PST the day of the sale unless you are here in person.  In-House absentee bids will be accepted until 9pm.
  • Online absentee bids are taken online through our pre-bidding page Wednesday evening (time varies) through Friday at 5:00pm Auction Day.
  • Minimum absentee bid of $40 per item will be accepted.
  • A 17% Buyer’s Fee is added to Absentee Bid purchases made by phone or online.  (In-house absentee bids are 12% buyers premium)
  • Item(s) must be paid for and removed from the Auction Center by the following Monday after the sale by 12:00 Noon.
  • Item(s) may not be removed until full payment is made.
  • Previewing the item is strongly recommended – All sales are final.
  • Preview is Friday 5:30pm up until the item is sold.
  • Absentee bidders must bid in whole dollars.  For example a bid of $92.00 will be treated as $90.00.
  • Opening bid and bid increments are dependent on lot valuation and are generally determined by the Floor.  In the case of identical bids: Floor bids, at the discretion of the auctioneer, may take precedence over absentee bids.

Shipping:

  • Shipping charges are the responsibility of the buyer.
  • Items will be shipped within 2-5 Business Days.
  • Shipping is only offered for small items and will be shipped by USPS Priority mail in USPS Priority boxes.
  • A handling charge of $10.00 will be charged per package shipped.
  • Buyer must arrange for pickup or shipping of heavy or furniture items.  ESU is happy to work with buyer’s shipper to have the item ready for pickup.
  • All Firearms will be shipped only to a FFL dealer once ESU receives a copy of a valid FFL (please see Firearms Terms for further details)

Auction Language Definitions:

  • Choice – Used when selling like items. Allows winning bidder to choose one of more of the items available at the final bid price. (Example: Selling 3 floor lamps, highest bidder wins choice bid at $25.00 each and takes 2 floor lamps, total bid price is $50 for 2 lamps)
  • Times the money – Used when selling groups of items. Winning bid must take entire group. (Example: 3-Piece Sofa Set, Winning bid is $100 but they must take all 3 pieces – 3x the money – Final bid price is $300)
  • So much a piece – Used when selling a group lot, winning bid is $25 per piece of total quantity sold. See definition for “Times the Money”
